A mild-flavored casserole, but if you really want to "thai" one on: add more hot chili sauce. Double recipe version.
It is simply the best Beef-Barley soup that my wife has made!! The original recipe came from www.cooks.com but she made various modifications.
This recipe is originally introduced at the Food Network's "Good Eats" with Alton Brown. Adjust the amount of the cardamom for your liking.
A fantastic dish served with bread, a salad and a nice red!
The "relation" is always 200g cheese to 100 ml. of wine (I use 200g cheese per person). Is great later on bread and broiled (-: if left over but and also add a bit more wine and reheat the next day, or whenever.
