4 Cups Fresh Blackberries
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Water
2 Bottles (750 mil) Bottles Rose Wine
1 Cup Blackberry Flavored Brandy
1/4 Cup Sweetned Lime Juice
3 Cups Fresh Peaches (Sliced)
A refreshing summer drink. We ordered Blackberry Sangria from Carrabba's then we did a search on the Internet and came up with our own recipe that tasted like Carrabba's, we altered it and came up with this recipe.
For the simple syrup; in a medium saucepan combine 2 cups of the berries, the sugar, water, and a dash of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes; cool slightly. Strain through a colander, pressing gently without crushing the fruit; discard berries. Cool syrup.
For sangria; in gallon jar or picture combine the blackberry syrup, rose wine, brandy, lime juice, and fruit. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours.
Serve over ice. Makes 13 8 oz. cups.
Use a nonreactive saucepan, such as teflon-line, enamel, stainless steel or silver. The acid in the berries may react with metal.
