Pennsylvania Dutch Peach Pie

Ingredients


1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3-4 cups peeled and sliced peaches (about 1-1/2 pounds)
1 unbaked 9" pie crust
Peaches with spices in a custard pie


Directions


For the custard: Beat eggs with a whisk. Whisk in milk, butter and spices until well mixed, then whisk in sugar.

For the pie: Add sliced peaches to the pie crust. Pour the custard over the peaches.

Place the pie on a baking sheet; bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Note: use the smaller amounts of spices for a milder flavor. Use the smaller amount of peaches if you don't have a deep-dish crust. Refrigerate any remaining pie.
