Ingredient ratios

One thing that might be worth including for the app is treating amounts for ingredients as ratios on the back end. When putting together a recipe, every unit has a relationship with each other of some sort. The problem is that not all recipes offer a solution for a desired total quantity, and the cook has to do their own calculations to adjust the recipe for the portion size they would like.

Any value in the recipe should be adjustable. If I change the number of servings, the recipe should change accordingly in the number of units of each ingredient are used. Likewise if I decide to use 2.3 cups of something instead of one, the values on the other ingredients should adjust accordingly.

I understand that with some recipes, the cooking methods and cooking times may change, but it is something worth considering for those of us who want to tune a recipe to the desired quantity quickly and easily.
