4 lean gammon steaks
Half teaspoon ground allspice
2 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced
3 tablespoons clear honey
4 tablespoons apple juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180 C (gasmark 4). Make perpendicular cuts into the edges of the steaks all the way around to stop them curling up when cooked. Sprinkle with the allspice and put into a baking dish. Put the chopped apples around the edges of the steaks.
Mix together the honey, apple juice and mustard in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the steaks and apples.
Bake for 15 minutes, basting occasionally, until the apples are tender and the steaks are cooked.
Serve, with any remaining glaze in the dish poured over the steaks.
