Applesauce Brownies

½ cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 TB cocoa
2 cup flour
1 ½ tsp soda
2 eggs
1 can (1 lb) applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
• Combine and mix for 1 minute. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle topping in order as listed.
2 TB sugar
½ cup nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
Bake at 350 for 25 – 30 minutes
